Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912)

Atop an oval base, the demon queller stands tall, his full beard detailed with incision work, his face displaying a serious expression. He wears a loosely fitted robe adorned with clouds, while holding a jewel in his right hand. Next to him, there is a gnarled trunk with a vessel placed on top. The underside is signed GYOKUKO.


HEIGHT 10.3 cm

Condition: Good condition with minor surface wear and minimal age cracks. The left sleeve with a very tiny chip. The object he used to hold in the left hand lost.

Trade Certificate: The trade certificate for the sale of this lot within the EU has been granted (permit number FR2207509527-K.

After the auction, Zacke will not answer questions from bidders unless the purchase price has been paid in full.   • A sale cancellation of any kind after the fall of the hammer is not possible. The only exception to this fundamental rule is our guarantee of authenticity [the Guarantee].
  • A Guarantee Claim, however, can only be raised after the purchase price has been paid in full by the buyer and within 45 days after the auction day.
