A LARGE PAIR OF BLUE-GLAZED BOTTLE VASES, LATE QING DYNASTY
清末一對藍釉長頸瓶

Lot details

China, 19th century. Each with a compressed globular body raised on a slightly spreading foot and surmounted by a long cylindrical neck, covered to the exterior in a rich dark-blue glaze stopping just above the foot and thinning to white at the mouth rim. (2)

Provenance: Sotheby’s, 14 September 2019, lot 1579, offered at a reserve price of USD 6,250 or EUR 7,000 including premium, converted and adjusted for inflation at the time of writing. A noted private collection in New York, USA, acquired from the above.
Condition: Very good condition with only minor wear and firing irregularities, microscopic glaze recesses, and a minuscule chip to one rim.

Dimensions: Height 40.1 cm and 39.8 cm

Once you have pre-registered for a live online auction, you can see your intended spend and bid limit by going to 'Account Settings' and clicking on 'Live Bidding Registrations'. 

Your bid limit will be the maximum amount you can bid during the auction. Your bid limit is for the hammer price and is not affected by the buyer’s premium and VAT.  For example, if you have a bid limit of €1,000 and place two winning bids for €300 and €200, then you will only be able to bid €500 for the rest of the auction. If you try to place a bid that is higher than €500, you will not be able to do so.
